Sustainability & Brand Mascot

THE CHALLENGE
Most people don’t think about what powers the internet. And most hosting companies are quite happy to keep it that way.
So the job here was to make something invisible feel real, without turning it into a lecture or a stat-heavy explainer.
At the same time, it still needed to land commercially. This isn’t just raising awareness — it has to make Krystal feel like a meaningful alternative, not just a nicer one.
MY APPROACH
The script starts with something obvious — a website — and then quietly shifts the frame. Not everything that looks clean is clean. That idea carries through the whole piece.
The language stays minimal. Short lines, no excess explanation, nothing trying to sound clever. It leaves space for the visuals to do their job, and for the message to land without being pushed.
Krystal comes in as a change in direction, not a hard sell. A small shift, framed as something that has wider impact. That keeps it from tipping into either guilt or self-congratulation.
By the end, it tightens back into something concrete — fast, reliable, fossil-free — so the message doesn’t drift off into abstraction.
the result
A piece that gives the sustainability story something people can actually grasp.
It takes an abstract issue — how the internet is powered — and turns it into a simple, recognisable idea. That makes it easier to connect the brand to something real, rather than a set of claims.
It also gives Krystal a clearer way into conversations where hosting is usually reduced to price and performance. This adds another dimension without overcomplicating the decision.
And internally, it becomes a reference point. A way of expressing the brand that can be reused across campaigns, social and sales — not just a one-off video.

AI Site Builder 40-second explainer

THE CHALLENGE
This had to explain something quickly, without making it sound complicated or overblown.
AI builders can tip either way — too vague to trust, or too technical to follow. In sixty seconds, there’s no room for either.
It also needed to carry a commercial point. The feature is included with Managed WordPress, so the message isn’t just “this exists”, it’s “this is worth having”.
MY APPROACH
Keep it linear and keep it moving.
Open with a time promise — “Sixty seconds” — so people know what they’re getting into. Then go straight into what it does, not how it works.
Break the process into simple steps. Tell us about your business, the AI builds the site, pages and content are done. No detours, no extra explanation.
Use repetition where it helps. “No coding. No stress.” It’s familiar, but it reinforces the point without slowing things down.
Bring the value in cleanly. Free with hosting, no extra cost. Keep it close to the feature so it doesn’t feel like a separate message.
End with a clear line that ties it back to the brand without stretching it.
the result
A clear explanation that doesn’t outstay its welcome.
The feature is easy to understand, the process is easy to follow, and the value is hard to miss. That’s doing most of the work.
It also gives sales and marketing something simple to use — a quick way to show the feature without needing to explain it from scratch.
And importantly, it keeps expectations in check. It shows what the builder does, without overselling it, which makes it easier to trust.
